Kids and adults alike play a lot of video games these days but is it a good thing or a bad thing? I have seen people play so much of video games that they virtually lost sense of time and even lost appetite and damaged their own health. Especially with the trend of connecting online multiplayer, a gamer could be playing with another gamer from another part of the world. This scenario makes it very addictive for the gamers because now they can compete worldwide and each players from each country, brings with them a new set of skills and tactics to play the game.

Video games if played for the right amount of time could actually be helpful for your brain. It boost memory and improves your cognitive function. For example, someone who plays a first person shooter game often, will be able to react faster while driving a car. Some seniors are encouraged to play video games too to improve their memory and reaction time.

On the other hand, too much video game is bad for your eyesight and your overall health. Being so addicted to video games is harmful because many youngsters wold rather play video games and eat less meals in a day. They would not engage in any healthy outdoor activities and exercises. Staring at their screen for too long damages the young people's eyesight and causes them to wear thicker eye glasses. There had been cases where young parents neglected their newborn baby and instead played video games. Eventually the infant baby died due to lack of proper food and nutrition, and the parents were arrested and charged after that.
