In Quebec, does people often speak in French besides English?

Is it true that people in the province of Quebec often speak in French first with you, then if you can't speak French they will speak English with you? I heard it is very important to know French if we have to find a good job in Quebec. Will I not get a good job if I don't speak French at all?

French is widely spoken in Quebec province but it is not a must, If you can speak English, you can get by. However, a lot of the jobs will require you to be somewhat familiar with some level of French speaking skills as you would be dealing with people who speak French.
