At times, i can be quite clumsy and i do lose things often. I know that i lost a monthly TTC pass then, it becomes my bad luck if someone else picks it up, because now that person can use the lost and found monthly pass.

If your card is stolen or lost:

1. Visit any of the 11 transit agencies that use PRESTO.

2. Call 1-877-378-6123 or 1-800-855-0511

If your card is registered, your money is protected. Your card will be cancelled and your money will be transferred to a new card. You are responsible for any costs incurred on your card uo to the first 24 hours after reporting its loss. You will however, need to pay 46 fee for your new card.

What to do if you have lost/Damaged your Presto card?

If you had created a "Presto" account online and added your card to that account, in the beginning, then you have a good chance of transferring your card balance, transit pass from lost card to a new replacement card. But if you haven't created a "Presto" account online and did not add your card to that account, then you are out of luck because you cannot transfer your card balance or transit pass in that case.

Follow the steps below if you do have an online PRESTO account and wants to transfer card balance or transit pass from lost card to a new replacement card:

1. Buy a new replacement Presto card "In-Person" at Presto fare vending machine, shoppers Drugmart, customer service desk (Subway stations). You can also buy a new replacement card online but it will be delayed, and you could be waiting for 7 to 10 business days for it to come in a mail. So avoid buying online unless you are willing to wait that long time.

2. Do not add this "New replacement card" to a Presto account online yet or load a transit pass on it. If you happen to make this mistake of adding to a Presto account or loading a transit pass on "New replacement card", then you will end up having to buy another new replacement card. Because then you won't be able to transfer your balance or settings to this "New replacement card".

3. Cancel your Presto card by logging into your account at "Prestocard.ca" and clicking on "Report lost card" located on the quick links menu. Remember once you cancel a Presto card, that same card will be disabled permanently and it can't be used again even after you find it back.

4. Select the correct lost "Presto card" you want to cancel. You might be having several Presto card on your account, be sure to choose the correct Presto card that you lost. Otherwise you might permanently cancel your other active Presto card.

5. Choose the option "Transfer balance of my lost/damaged card to a new Presto card I have purchased".

6. Type in your new Presto card number.

7. Type in your card verification number.

8. Click on "I agree to terms and conditions".

9. Choose "Submit".

10. It will take about 6 to 12 hours for the balance transfer to happen, then afterwards you can simply tap your new Presto card on the Presto card vending machine or on the Presto card reader on a bus or train stations to complete your balance transfer.
